The House
MuseumRejects is an independent American fashion house founded by Shikery Muhyee in Virginia in 2019.
Built on the belief that clothing can preserve ideas, MuseumRejects creates contemporary garments through the language of art, tailoring, and storytelling. Every collection begins with a concept—not a trend—and is developed as part of a growing archive.
The name MuseumRejects is inspired by the Salon des Refusés, the historic exhibition that celebrated artists whose work challenged convention. That spirit continues to define the house today by creating work for those who choose originality over acceptance.
Each garment is produced in limited quantities with an emphasis on craftsmanship, thoughtful construction, and longevity. From shirting and knitwear to denim, tailoring, accessories, and publications, every piece is designed to exist beyond a single season.
Designed and built independently, MuseumRejects represents ownership, perseverance, and the belief that meaningful design can shape culture.
MuseumRejects is more than a clothing brand. It is a house dedicated to building an enduring archive of contemporary American fashion.
